We run a variety of classes and workshops at our shop. Whether you're looking to learn a new craft or advance your skills, or just hang out with a great group of people, we've got lots of options.

Please note: when you are taking a class with us, you will receive 10% off any purchase made at M1 during that time.

If you want to take a class, but find the time will not work for you, or wish to learn a technique not covered in the current offerings, please call us to arrange a private lesson.

Knitting 101 is taught every month. ($85)

January 2012 is already full.
February, Tuesdays, 7-28, 6-8pm
March, Tuesdays, 6-27, 6-8 pm
April, Wednesdays, 4-25, 6-8 pm
May, Thursdays, 10-31, 6-8 pm
June, Tuesdays, 5-26, 6-8 pm

If you are new to knitting, or if it has been a while and you need to brush up your skills, this is the class for you. It is more than just the basics, though you will get those down too. Reading a chart, yarn substitutions, binding off and more will be taught. By the end of these classes, you should be well-launched on your first project!

Spinning 101 is also taught every month. ($85)

You will learn to spin on a spindle and then what to do next. The use of a niddy-noddy and other mysterious tools will be demonstrated. Setting your twist and plying will be taught. Fibre choices and preparation will also be covered, as well as some instruction on a wheel if there is class time.

In February, Caroline will instruct on aspects of long and short draw and true worsted spinning.

Events @ M1

We're building a community of knitters, crocheters, spinners, and other fibre artists here in Calgary. We offer ongoing events where you're invited to come in, grab a spot on the comfy couches, and join fellow fiber artists for an hour or two.

Unless otherwise noted, all of the below events are free of charge, and most are drop-in - no need to RSVP or let us know you'll be joining us.

	Tuesday Knit Night Join our weekly stitch 'n bitch every Tuesday night from 6 - 9pm. Crocheters, spinners, and weavers are welcome too!
	Spin In Social Our first ever Saturday Spin In was so much fun, we've decided to do it every month. Come down to the store at noon on the 2nd Saturday of the month for an afternoon of spinning. Bring your own wheel or spindle, or let us know if you'll need to borrow equipment.
	Potluck Night On the 3rd Saturday of each month from 5-9pm, we meet here at Make One, favourite foods and snacks in tow, to knit and chat. Everyone is welcome!
	Mum & Tots (& Knitting!) Every Wednesday afternoon, from 1-4 PM, is our regular Mum & Tots (& Knitting!) time - do join us! Everybody welcome!
